This is a classic arbitrage (surebet) — regardless of the outcome, the player makes a profit due to the discrepancy in lines between bookmakers.

Value bet is a bet on an overvalued odds, when the real probability of the outcome is higher than what’s built into the bookmaker’s line. This is not a “guarantee,” but a strategy with positive expected value over the long term with proper bankroll management.

The bookmaker offers odds of 2.30 for Sinner’s victory, which corresponds to a probability of:

1/2.30 = 0.435 = 43.5%

You believe (based on recent match statistics, coverage, and form) that the real probability of his victory is 55%. Then the expected value of the bet:

EV = (0.55×2.30) − 1 = 1.265 − 1 = +0.265

That is, each bet on Sinner has +26.5% expected value.
